De Jonge Read celebrated 20 years at SEA LIFE Melbourne - a venue that doesn't permit balloons on site. Florals were the answer. We installed a shimmer wall with 20 YEARS in light up letters across the front, flanked by two floral plinths in our Spring floral colour. The result photographed as a full branded milestone moment.

Flower Wall Backdrop FAQs
How much does it cost to hire a floral backdrop?
See the all-inclusive pricing at the top of this page, or check live pricing and availability instantly online for Melbourne and Brisbane. Every price includes delivery, professional setup and collection, with no hidden fees.
Are the flowers plastic?
No. Our florals are silk, and every garland is hand made. Silk holds colour and shape in a way moulded plastic stems don't, and it photographs without the flat sheen that gives cheap artificial flowers away. We do not use real-touch florals as they are coated, and that coating is prone to leaching colour and picking up dirt over repeated use - which matters a great deal for hire stock that goes out hundreds of times. Silk stays clean and vibrant.
Do you deliver and set up?
Yes. Delivery, professional styling onto the frame, and pack-down are all included. Unlike many floral hire companies that only offer dry hire where you collect, transport and arrange the pieces yourself, we handle everything. Read more about our delivery areas here.
How do I book?
Pick your steel frame or wooden arch, add your signage or balloons, check your date and book online in about two minutes with a 20% deposit - automatic confirmation straight to your email. Most floral and event hire companies still run on email quotes: you enquire, wait for a reply, wait again to find out whether your date is even free, then go back and forth on colours before anything is confirmed. Can you take a last-minute booking?
Usually, yes. Our florals are pre-made and sitting in the warehouse, and we run a large team with large delivery vehicles - nothing is being made to order. If the date shows as available online, it is available.
What makes your florals different?
Our sets aren't fixed to a backdrop. Each one is hand made onto a foam and mesh backing in a standardised size, so the same set can be styled across a steel arbour, draped over a wooden arch, run along a sail, placed on a plinth, or laid on the ground. Each set is three pieces - two larger arrangements and one smaller offsetting piece - so it can run corner-heavy on one side, split across two sides, or crown the whole top of an arch. Same hire, three completely different looks. Most floral hire is built for one frame and one arrangement.
Can you brand the backdrop for a corporate event?
Yes. A personalised acrylic disk sign or vinyl decal carries your business name, logo or event title, and we can run your brand colour through an existing floral colour as a minor customisation.
Can I get a custom colour?
We can work your brand colour into an existing colour as a minor customisation. A fully custom colour or style needs four weeks' notice and carries an additional cost. We're an off-the-shelf hire company rather than a floral design studio.
Can I add balloons, neon signs or light up numbers?
Yes. Most clients combine a floral backdrop with a neon sign, balloon garland or light up numbers.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can for Melbourne Cup week, International Women's Day and the November-December formal and graduation run.
