Orbs, also called big shiny balls or mirror ball balloons, are on trend for a simple reason: they reflect. A spherical mirror finish picks up venue lighting, guests and the backdrop behind it in a way a balloon can't, and mixed sizes let you layer a setup for depth. What are orbs?
Orbs are giant inflatable mirror balls made from double-layer PVC with a reflective gold or silver coating. They're also known as big shiny balls, mirror ball balloons, shiny balls or inflatable mirror spheres. They aren't glass disco balls: they're lightweight and used for styling rather than lighting effects.
How much does orb hire cost?
Orb hire is $400 for a set of 10 big shiny balls in gold or silver. That price includes delivery, setup and pack-down within our free delivery areas. Book online with a 20% deposit to secure your date.
What sizes are the orbs?
Each set includes 10 orbs in mixed sizes from 40cm to 1m. Varying the sizes gives the setup texture and depth, rather than a row of identical balls.
Can I hang orbs from the ceiling?
Yes. Every orb has built-in rigging points for easy hanging. Hanging is done by you or your venue, so check what your venue allows before the event.
Can orbs be stacked or freestanding?
Yes. For stacked displays we use a freestanding base plate and pole that takes the weight of the orbs. That means a stack can stand outside a shopfront, beside your own backdrop or media wall, or on its own on a stage.
Can orbs be used outdoors or in a pool?
Orbs are suitable indoors and in sheltered outdoor areas. They can't be used in swimming pools, as chlorine damages the reflective coating.
Are orbs the same as balloons?
No. Orbs are reusable hire items made from durable double-layer PVC, and we collect them after your event. They must not be popped or taken home, and charges apply for damage or missing orbs. Orbs are not the same as loon balls or foil spheres.
Where do you deliver orbs?
Delivery is free across the Brisbane region. In Victoria it's free across Melbourne's CBD, inner suburbs and western suburbs, plus Geelong and Ballarat. Flat-rate delivery applies to Melbourne's eastern suburbs, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and wider South East Queensland. See our delivery areas page for suburb lists and minimum orders.
